BIOGRAPHY
TV Presenter Laura Hamilton was chosen as one of the 16 celebrities to participate in ITV1's flagship show Dancing On Ice 2011. She soon captured the audience with her fun and friendly personality, sheer determination and lust for speed and danger! Her hard work paid off when she made it through to the final and 8.8million people saw her awarded with 2nd place.
Most recently Laura has joined the team of Channel 4's award winning show 'A Place in the Sun' and has been busy filming abroad. She has also recently presented the action/adventure challlenge show, Fort Boyard which is currently on air in the US and will broadcast on ITV in the UK in 2012.
Since Dancing on Ice Laura has started presenting competitions for ITV's 'This Morning', she hosted the 'Wellchild Awards' with Prince Harry and will also appear on our screens in a Celebrity Special (winter version) of 'Total Wipeout'.
Over the years she has amassed a great deal of experience working in TV. She wrote and created 'Wake up World', for Nick Jr and was the female face for Nickelodeon for 2 and a half years. As well as presenting from the red carpet in LA, she hosted the UK Kid's Choice Awards with McFly in 2007 and Danni Minogue in 2008. Live tele has included 'Nickheads', 'Slime Across the UK' and 'ME:TV'. Laura fronted 'Staraoke' on Boomerang with Nigel Clarke and also worked as a guest presenter on CITV's 'Toonattik'.
Laura actually began her TV presenting career at CITV' in the popular kids show 'The Fun Song Factory'. Prior to this worked behind the scenes in television as an assistant floor manager and 3rd AD in film. Her 5 years experience behind the scenes gives her a really good appreciation of both side of the camera.
In her spare time Laura loves extreme sports. She has been a keen skier since the age of 9, enjoys wakeboarding and waterskiing and has also sky-dived from 14000ft. With a passion for travel, she has seen many parts of the world including East and West America, India, North Africa, UAE, Cuba, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Hong Kong, Australia, Fiji and Iceland. She loves cars, interior design and property renovation and brought her first project funded entirely on her own at just 19 years old!
